Stone Mountain State Park is a great place to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and hikers can try their hand at hiking all the way to the dome's 600 foot summit. The park contains more than 14,000 acres of forested lands and also is a renowned spot for rock climbing. New River State Park, located just a short drive away, is also a special place to enjoy hiking as there are many trails and paved walkways for visitors to enjoy.
